Well, Yes, I did change the bit about gills in the Gallery. My reasoning is that gills are essentially a filter. The ones in fish filter out Oxygen, while a Weblum's could be for a number of substances. Given that the environment of the Weblum usually includes dead planets that it eats, so some measure of filtering would be useful, if not essential, to it's digestive or respiratory functions.

How do Weblum know the planets it feeds on are dead? If it is non-sentient, it wouldn't be able to tell the difference between living and dead planets, right? Right?

Well, Yes, I did change the bit about gills in the Gallery. My reasoning is that gills are essentially a filter. The ones in fish filter out Oxygen, while a Weblum's could be for a number of substances. Given that the environment of the Weblum usually includes dead planets that it eats, so some measure of filtering would be useful, if not essential, to it's digestive or respiratory functions.

How do Weblum know the planets it feeds on are dead? If it is non-sentient, it wouldn't be able to tell the difference between living and dead planets, right? Right?
