Admiral Ellen Sanda was the Admiral of the Galaxy Garrison, she was a stubborn, no-nonsense woman who betrayed Voltron during the invasion of Earth where she told Commander Sendak of Voltron's plan in hopes of saving humanity, she was killed during capture after attempting to save the paladins after the Galran Commander went back on his deal.
History[]
After Takashi "Shiro" Shirogane was denied access to being allowed on the Kerberos mission, both she and Commander Iverson agreed it was for the best due to Shiro's health.
After Sam Holt returned to Earth after his capture and being announced dead, Admiral Sanda had him kept inside the Galaxy Garrison for tests and to keep him out of public view, she at first denied Colleen Holt access to take Sam home but eventually caved and gave her clearance upon being demanded to do so.
When Colleen declared she would tell people of the truth and about the invasion, Sanda attempted to stop her much to no success as she believed that by telling the world that aliens existed, it would send them into a panic which only further made Colleen want to tell the truth more, after discovering both Sam and Colleen had done so anyways, Sanda became furious and threaten to demote Iverson and Sam from their ranks.
Wanting the Galra gone, Sanda eventually made a deal with Commander Sendak as she told him of the plan to destroy the Zairforge Cannons and that once Voltron was on his ship, he would leave Earth, Sendak agreed though went back on his word and instead continued his invasion, Sanda then tricked Lieutenant Hepta into freeing her, she used the advantage to steal a blaster to buy time, the blaster soon ran out of power which lead to her death, she was mortally wounded by Hepta in her final attempt to kill him, she died in Keith's arms when the paladins were freed, her last words pleading the team to save the planet that she loved.
Despite her betrayal, her sacrifice was honored by her allies on Earth, she was commemorated with the rest of the fallen and given a plaque of honor.
Personality[]
Admiral Sanda was a stern, disciplined and strong leader, she displayed the need to control and have the highest of authority due to her status, she was easily angered at those who challenged her beliefs. After the Kerberos mission, she had Takashi "Shiro" Shirogane, Matthew "Matt" Holt and Samuel "Sam" Holt declared dead even after learning they were alive but held captive by the Galra and instead opted to keep their survival a secret as to keep the world from panicking. Despite these flaws, Sanda was dedicated to protecting Earth at all cost, even if it meant cooperating with enemies, and in her dying moments, she pleaded for Keith to do what she had failed to and save humanity from Sendak, which he and the paladins fulfilled.
