The Goddess of the Universe also known as the "Space Goddess" is a powerful and mysterious entity.

Beast King GoLion

Thousands of years ago, the goddess was challenged to combat by the arrogant robot known as Golion, after it had defeated several beastmen. To teach GoLion humility, the goddess separated him into five pieces in the form of five lion robots that sailed through space and crash-landed on Altea, to lay in wait for those who would one day reawaken him to battle against the forces of evil once more.

Trivia

In Voltron: Defender of the Universe, the witch Haggar impersonated her. Casting the spell that split Voltron into the five separate lions.
