Elderbug Blate is an alien from Planet Krell. He rules over a town once protected from a creature known only as Abomination. Every year, Elderbug Blate and the people of Krell would prepare a feast for the creature known as the Guardian of the Krell. This would ensure the guardian continued to protect the town. When the guardian was accidentally killed in a battle with Voltron, Elderbug Blate was furious despite their apologies.
After the Paladins battled the Abomination, in the process learning that it was only drawn to the town because of the offers made for the guardian, Elderbug Blate decided to forgive the Paladins. He told them to seek out Princess Malocoti for information on the Yalexian Pearl.
