Caponello is the secondary antagonist of Dairugger XV. He is the Supreme Commander of Galveston. He is responsible for sending out the fleets and Battle Attackers against the Earth exploration forces.
Story[]
Unlike Socrat Teles, Caponello doesn't want to make peace with Earth. When Teles tries to negotiate a peace treaty with Earth, Caponello tries to undermine him as much as possible. He successfully has Teles and the latter's father removed and gets more commanders for the war. However the new commanders are still prone to small victories. Worse still, the Earth's forces order the Galveston Empire to be dismantled, and the Galveston people, led by Teles' ally, Palace Guard Sirk, start a rebellion against the elites.
As always, Caponello tries to have his forces fight against Earth's forces, led by Dairugger. One by one, the Galveston Empire loses its worlds. Caponello tells Emperor Corsair to flee, to which the latter refuses to. Thus Caponello flees on a Battle Attacker, which is easily destroyed by the Dairugger, killing him.
Freed, Teles helps his people to evacuate aboard Earth ships, before getting killed by some rebels who mistake him with an elite, but he still manages to pass on the commandership to Sirk. Caponello's death is ultimately for naught and he will forever be remembered as a coward, while his rival Teles will be remembered as a martyr.
