Synopsis[]

A metaphysical encounter shines light on a Paladin's fate. Lance and Allura console each other about their past judgments. Lotor makes a plea.

Plot Summary[]

Keith wakes on the astral plane where he meets the real Shiro. Shiro tells him that that he died when the team fought Zarkon before his disappearance. His body was destroyed, but his spirit was absorbed into the Black Lion.

At the Castle of Lions, Coran leads the repair efforts, while Lance comforts Allura over Lotor's betrayal. Keith contacts the Castle and explains the situation surrounding Shiro, and warns them that the Sincline ships are heading their way. Allura realizes that he is intending to re-enter the quintessence field, and decides that the inter-reality gate must be destroyed.

Lotor and his generals arrive and states his case of Allura, but she refuses to listen to him because of all the harm he has put the surviving Alteans through. Lotor orders his generals to destroy the Lions when Allura calls him worse than Zarkon. Lotor's true intentions are revealed when he rants about starting a new Altea that will never know about King Alfor, Allura, or even Voltron and will worship him as a god. He even goes so far as to say he will destroy all his enemies, including the Galra, causing Acxa, Ezor, and Zethrid to abandon him.

Lotor ejects his generals from their ships and then combines them into a large robot that he can pilot and after this, the generals fly away with their suits out of fear from him. Lotor overwhelms the four Lions and severely damages the Castle. Keith connects with Shiro's spirit in the Black Lion and manages to activate the Black Lion's wings, allowing the Black Lion to arrive in time. Forming Voltron, the Paladins prepare to face Lotor.
